Sarasota in the spring
We're planning to play the Sarasota area in the spring. I'll say that plainly because it's the thing I'm most looking forward to and I don't want to bury it.
No dates yet and no venues to announce. Those will come, and when they do they'll be announced here and on the mailing list. But the plan is real: new album out in the spring, and then shows around here and as far out as we can take them through the spring and summer.
Part of why I care about this is that the songs are from here. Every one of them is about a bridge, a beach, a bar, a season or a person in this part of Florida. Playing them for people in a different place is a good time, but playing them for the people who recognize the bridge is something else. They know the exact traffic. They know who Eddie is.
I also like the idea of a spring show for a practical reason. The weather's perfect, the snowbirds haven't left yet, and the locals have their evenings back. It's the best stretch of the year to stand outside with a crowd of neighbors and turn something up.
